Art conservator to share craft
The California Museum of Art Thousand Oaks will present a free lecture by paintings conservator and art restorer Bita Klemm at 6:30 p.m. Wed., Nov. 5 in the Grant Brimhall Library community room, 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.
Klemm began her career in 1976 in Mallorca, Spain, where she participated in a project restoring 12th-century frescoes.
After 10 years, she returned to California and now operates her own conservation studio.
The illustrated lecture will describe the work of an art conservator with an emphasis on some of Klemm’s most challenging and rewarding projects.
Refreshments will be served.
The CMATO is a nonprofit that educates the community about the visual arts with the goal of establishing a local art museum next to the Civic Arts Plaza.
