CMATO Announces New Board Officers

CALIFORNIA MUSEUM OF ART THOUSAND OAKS (CMATO) ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD OFFICERS

Thousand Oaks, CA – The California Museum of Art Thousand Oaks, a non-profit organization that is committed to serving a diverse audience through the exhibition, interpretation, and exploration of the fine and design arts, has selected new Board of Director officers for 2016-2017.

TONY PRINCIPE — CHAIR
Tony Principe is a principal and President of Westcord Commercial Real Estate Services and Co-Managing Partner of TR Funding, LLC. SINCE 1986, Principe has handled in excess of 10 million square feet of property, and recorded over 2,500 sales and lease transactions totaling in excess of $3.5 billion dollars. He has been honored as the Westcord’s “Top Producer” since 1991.

Since 1994 Principe has been Co-Managing Partner of T.R. Funding, LLC with father Rick Principe. T.R. Funding has developed and rehabilitated over 40 commercial properties throughout the Ventura and Los Angeles County region.

In addition to serving as Chairman of the Board of the California Museum of Art Thousand Oaks, Principe is the Automotive Editor of CSQ Magazine. He has served many organizations in the community, including 15 years as a volunteer for various outreach programs with Rotary Club International. He has served for 14 years as a Counselor and Speaker at the four-day RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Association) camp in Ojai, California. Principe was American Heart Association President and an active member of the board of directors and treasurerof the Ventura County Chapter from 1989-2002 and Chairman of Coaching for the Braille Institute Special Olympics, Los Angeles from 1986-2001. Principe also served as President and member of the Board of Directors of the Optimist Club of the Conejo Valley.

As the New Chair of the Board of Directors, Mr. Principe says his goal is “to expand the outreach, visibility and need for this growing in our community and to offer exciting programs that will educate and enrich our residents, including our youth.” Principe takes over Chairmanship from Richard T. Johnson, a founder and member of the board since CMATO’s inception in 2008. Johnson will continue to serve on the Board of Directors. As the new Chair of the Board of Directors, Mr. Principe says his goal is “to expand the outreach, visibility and need for this growing museum in our community and to offer exciting programs that will educate and enrich our residents, including our youth.”

ELLIOT BLINDER — SECRETARY
Originally from Boston & New York, Mr. Blinder now makes his home in Thousand Oaks and is the CEO of Westlake Village Gallery, LLC, publishers and distributors of Fine Art limited editions, and the management firm for internationally renowned artists. Also a realtor, Blinder joined Westcord Commercial after having previously worked at Dilbeck Real Estate in Westlake Village and Fred Sands Realtors in Brentwood & Santa Monica. He is a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and the California Association of Realtors (CAR) specializing in Commercial Leasing and Sales.

Mr. Blinder is also a published author who has consulted on projects with the City of Los Angeles, the US Olympic Committee, Senator Edward Kennedy, Maxim’s, Warner Brothers, The Disney Stores, the Los Angeles Dodgers and others.

LEONARD (LEN) M. LINTON — TREASURER
Len Linton has been a resident of the community since 1978. He is CFO of ViaSource Solutions, a Thousand Oaks based customer service company, combining cloud technology, customer service and sales for companies across North America. Previously Mr. Linton was CEO of 1NWContact, which was acquired by ViaSource Solutions. He has also served as President of a retained executive search firm located in the area and spent the first 12 years of his career with the Burroughs Corporation and moved to California to head manufacturing of technology equipment in Westlake Village.

Linton was on the board of the New West Symphony, where he served as Board Chair for 3 years, was a director, Treasurer and past President of the Wellness Community, was a director and past President of the Rotary Club of Westlake Village Sunrise. He also served on the board of California Oaks State Bank from its founding in 1998 to its sale in 2011.

MARGARET FIEWEGER, PH.D. — VICE CHAIR
Margaret Fieweger, PhD, is emerita administrator from California State University Northridge (CSUN). Her administrative career also includes Department Chair of Communication Studies, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, and Associate Academic Vice President for California State University Los Angeles (CSULA). Margaret served as Administrative Fellow of the California State University and served on university accreditation teams for the Western Association of Schools and Universities.

A trustee of the Conejo Las Virgenes Future Foundation since 1995, Margaret co-chaired Senior Congresses and chaired the Task Force on Housing the Visual Arts, which became the California Museum of Art Thousand Oaks. Margaret has been a caregiver and communication trainer for Hospice of Conejo, and served on the Board of Directors.

The California Museum of Art Thousand Oaks is a non-profit organization committed that is committed to educating the community about the visual arts and dedicated to establishing a premier art museum that will serve Ventura County and surrounding communities.
