California Museum of Art Thousand Oaks Names Daniel Crosby as New Board Member
Thousand Oaks, June 4, 2018—The California Museum of Art Thousand Oaks announced the election of Daniel Crosby as the newest member of the Museum’s Board of Directors. Crosby is the principal and co-founder of SPS Limelight Agency.
Crosby co-founded the SPS Limelight Agency in 1997. Since then, the firm has evolved into a dynamic force in representing artists painting in the world of celebrity and sports. The agency has representation agreements with Ronnie Wood, Tom Everhart, Stephen Holland, Bernie Taupin and Sylvester Stallone. Crosby is also a principal in the gallery chain, “The Art of the Game”. These galleries are primarily located in sporting venues in Southern California.
Crosby, a New York native now living in Thousand Oaks, started his career in 1984, working his way through the New York gallery scene to eventually becoming the Director of Retail for one of the premiere art gallery chains in the United States. He has worked with the most recognizable artists from Andy Warhol and Keith Haring to Hiro Yamagata and Mark Kostabi.
“Daniel’s experience, vision and extensive knowledge of the art world fits perfectly with our strategic plan for CMATO’s future. We are fortunate to have him become an active member of our growing Board of Directors,” said Museum Chairman Tony Principe.
“I am flattered to be asked to join the board of CMATO. Since moving our family to Thousand Oaks, Alyssa and I have attended a number of the exhibits that the museum has hosted and we’ve been very impressed. CMATO’s presence in the community helped reinforce our decision to make our home here so being asked to lend my support to the museum is quite an honor and am looking forward to helping CMATO achieve its mission to engage, educate, inspire, and elevate the human spirit through palette of Art,” said Daniel Crosby.
CMATO is a non-profit organization committed to becoming part of the social fabric of the Conejo Valley region by providing educational, and enlightening experiences that are affordable. The City of Thousand Oaks is committed to supporting CMATO at the Civic Arts Plaza as part of their goal to have a vibrant arts community.
