California Museum of Art Thousand Oaks (CMATO) continues expansion with major gift from Shawn and Letal Skelton

(Thousand Oaks, CA – November 1, 2017) – The California Museum of Art Thousand Oaks (CMATO) has accepted a major gift of $100,000 from local art patrons, Shawn and Letal Skelton. This gift will accelerate the museum’s mission to become the preeminent art museum is the region. This gift supports the core pillars of CMATO’s mission to engage, educate, inspire and elevate the human spirit through the palette of Art.

Shawn Skelton, President and Founder of BankCard USA, a merchant services company located in Thousand Oaks, CA since 1993, gift comes after a formal review of CMATO’s proposed building plans at its current location Civic Arts Plaza West.

 “I’ve lived in the area since 1987 and have seen tremendous growth and development over the years. I think its perfect timing to be involved with the development and support of our own Art Museum. Letal and I are very excited and honored to be a part of CMATO,” said Shawn Skelton.

Tony Principe, Chairman of the Board of Directors at CMATO, states, “The Skeltons have been generous supporters of the museum for years. With the unveiling of our phased-development approach combined with the success of our exhibitions and public programs, the Skelton’s are enthusiastically supporting our efforts to establish a world-class museum in the heart of the Conejo Valley region.”

CMATO is dedicated to being a tremendous art resource for the community for decades to come, and will excite and delight members of the public as well.
